Description

  • Work with data subject matter experts and business users to model domains of knowledge.
  • Apply NLP techniques such as entity extraction, classification, and document processing to prepare data for AI use.
  • Design, implement, test, and operate end-to-end RAG workflows, including retrieval architecture, embedding strategies, and response evaluation.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of agentic AI solutions, including orchestration, tool use, memory, and retrieval integration.
  • Support business intelligence projects with AI-based solutions.
  • Analyze complex datasets and communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Design and implement data pipelines to ingest, process, and enrich structured and unstructured content.
  • Contribute to semantic layer and knowledge graph implementations within broader AI architectures.
  • Work with internal and external teams to place data engineering work in the context of larger client projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, economics, data science, computer science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working on data analysis projects in a production setting.
  • Experience designing reports, data analysis approaches, and visualizations.
  • Direct client-facing experience, including briefings, facilitating meetings, and presenting work products.
  • Experience applying machine learning methods and statistical analysis to business use cases.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages for data analysis and modeling.
  • Experience with NLP methods applied to unstructured data in production.
  • Hands-on experience building and optimizing RAG pipelines, including embedding strategies, reranking, and cross-encoder models.
  • Familiarity with retrieval quality and evaluation metrics such as precision, recall, and MRR.
  • Experience implementing monitoring and observability for RAG and AI components, including latency, success rate, cache hit rate, retrieval quality, and data drift.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, database architecture, and data integration, aggregation, and normalization across heterogeneous sources.
  • Interest in developing as a consultant and taking on additional responsibilities.
  • Must be authorized to work without employer immigration sponsorship or related support.
  • Local candidates preferred for the Arlington, VA hybrid office; remote candidates may reside in CO, FL, MA, NC, NH, NM, NY, OR, PA, RI, TX, or WA.
  • Experience with relational databases, graph databases, and SPARQL (preferred).
  • Experience with AI governance practices, including model monitoring, evaluation frameworks, and access entitlements (preferred).
  • Docker proficiency expected, with Kubernetes familiarity a plus.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP for deploying and operating AI and data solutions.
  • Exposure to ontology or taxonomy design and related management tools such as Progress Semaphore, PoolParty, Synaptica, or Mondeca.
  • Experience designing and planning data science projects to meet business requirements.
  • Experience implementing agentic AI workflows using LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, BAML, or equivalent frameworks.

Benefits

  • Starting salary range of $150,000 to $210,000, with most candidates likely to fall in the lower half.
