Description

  • Design and implement software systems and APIs with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and other cross-functional teams to deliver customer-facing experiences.
  • Mentor mid- to senior-level engineers and help raise team quality and technical standards.
  • Lead initiatives that improve efficiency, system performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and operate real-time pricing systems for lodging, car rentals, and flights on the Pricing team.
  • Develop auction-based pricing engines, machine learning-informed models, and customer segmentation strategies.
  • Own authentication and authorization systems for customers on the Identity Management team.
  • Operate the Auth0 tenant and shape the login experience.
  • Partner with enterprise customers to deliver secure and reliable identity integrations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available, high-performing distributed systems.
  • Proven experience building public-facing consumer-grade APIs.
  • Experience managing API versioning, deprecation, and consumption-based rate limiting.
  • Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Kotlin, or similar modern backend languages (preferred).
  • Experience with AWS (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, scalability, and system architecture.
  • Preference for Domain-Driven Design.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, innovative environments.
  • Willingness to collaborate closely and deliver results.
  • Experience supporting authentication and authorization systems or identity integrations (preferred).

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with a base pay range of $148,200 to $205,000 USD.
  • Total compensation may include equity and/or variable pay (OTE).
