Description

  • Lead technical discussions and provide strategic modeling insights to clients.
  • Develop and validate complex optimization models tailored to customer needs.
  • Guide junior analysts and provide mentorship in modeling best practices.
  • Conduct research on policy impacts, market developments, and emerging technologies.
  • Manage project lifecycles from scoping through delivery to support customer success.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to enhance software capabilities.
  • Work with the sales team to identify customer use cases and support go-to-market strategy.
  • Serve as an energy markets subject matter expert and communicate the product value proposition to customers.
  • Build energy market models for APAC regions using Energy Exemplar’s PLEXOS software.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in energy market modeling, forecasting, or optimization.
  • Extensive experience in PLEXOS or similar optimization software.
  • Deep knowledge of energy markets and associated economics.
  • Expertise in model setup, custom configurations, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in scripting, automation, and integrating market datasets.
  • Project management experience across scoping, planning, stakeholder coordination, delivery, and completion.
  • Ability to communicate complex subject matter in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a top-down approach to problem solving.
  • Strong interpersonal presence, presentation skills, and ability to build rapport.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and focused on quality.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in stochastic optimization techniques (preferred).
  • Strong desire for personal and career advancement.
