Description

  • Provide direct line management, coaching, and development support to the People Officer.
  • Oversee global employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, and offboarding.
  • Act as a senior advisor on employee relations matters such as disciplinaries, grievances, performance concerns, absence, wellbeing, and policy interpretation.
  • Use digital and AI-enabled tools to streamline HR processes, reporting, data management, and employee support.
  • Own Ember’s HR policy framework, ensuring policies are practical, legally compliant, user-friendly, and consistently applied across regions.
  • Monitor HR and employment law developments, particularly across Asia, and translate them into practical guidance for the organisation.
  • Oversee relationships with Employer of Record providers and other HR and benefits partners.
  • Maintain accurate, secure HR data and records in line with data protection requirements.
  • Support employee engagement, wellbeing, retention, learning and development, career pathways, and succession planning.
  • Partner with senior leaders on people priorities, organisational design, workforce planning, and HR metrics analysis.

Requirements

  • Recognised mid-level HR qualification or equivalent experience, such as CIPD Level 5, SHRM-CP, PHR, IHRP-CP, CPHR, HKIHRM membership, or a relevant HR degree.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment law, with expertise in Asia and awareness of global HR trends.
  • Experience using AI-enabled digital tools to improve, automate, or streamline HR processes, with understanding of associated opportunities and risks.
  • Experience handling employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance concerns.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Proven line management or coaching experience within a People team.
  • Ability to analyse HR metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements to organisational effectiveness.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels.
  • High emotional intelligence, resilience, confidentiality, and integrity when handling sensitive matters.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Advanced HR qualification such as CIPD Level 7, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR, or evidence of ongoing development toward strategic-level practice (preferred).
  • Experience in a remote-first, international, or non-profit organisation (preferred).
  • Familiarity with payroll, benefits, and employment practices across multiple jurisdictions (preferred).
  • Experience leading L&D strategy or career development frameworks (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of HRIS and data-driven HR practices (preferred).
  • Experience implementing AI-driven or digital HR systems (preferred).

  • Salary of £41,576 - £60,978 depending on experience and local cost of living.
