Description

  • Lead the implementation of FHIR standards to support accurate and efficient data exchange.
  • Ingest healthcare data from source systems into FHIR resources using ETL processes while checking data quality and integrity.
  • Create and maintain data mapping specifications to transform non-FHIR data formats into FHIR-compliant data.
  • Develop scalable RESTful API endpoints for FHIR solutions.
  • Implement security measures and access controls to protect sensitive healthcare data.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare data privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Document FHIR implementations, data transformation processes, and data flows in tools such as Confluence.
  • Stay current with evolving FHIR standards and related interoperability practices.
  • Participate actively in program increment (PI) planning and agile team activities.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand needs and support implementation decisions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of FHIR development experience.
  • 4+ years of Java development experience, with some familiarity with Python and Ruby on Rails.
  • 4+ years of experience working in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably on large-scale cloud applications.
  • 4+ years of experience developing RESTful API endpoints with object-oriented programming languages such as Java/Spring.
  • Strong familiarity with healthcare data and integration standards, including HL7, FHIR, JSON, and XML.
  • Experience with concept maps, especially in relation to FHIR resources.
  • Experience handling large volumes of clinical data and improving data cleaning, conformance, and quality.
  • Understanding of healthcare terminology sets and interoperability standards, including ICD, SNOMED, CPT/HCPCS, LOINC, HL7v2, and FHIR.
  • Experience working with and negotiating with stakeholders; CMS or healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Must live in the Continental US and be a US citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
  • Previous web application development experience preferred.
  • Previous public sector consulting experience and familiarity with customer needs preferred.
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or another agile framework preferred.
