Description

  • Lead delivery and strategic engagements with public sector customers, including senior government stakeholders.
  • Own the customer strategic roadmap and facilitate quarterly strategic sessions with key stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, and integrate Elastic products and APIs in mission-critical environments.
  • Support platform architecture, capacity planning, and performance tuning for search and analytics at scale.
  • Develop demos and proof-of-concepts that demonstrate the value of the Elastic Stack.
  • Work closely with engineering, product management, and support teams to identify feature enhancements and extensions.
  • Partner with the sales team to scope opportunities and assess technical risks, questions, and concerns.
  • Work with the wider Elastic organization to align customer goals with strategic requirements and ongoing adoption.
  • Solve complex customer data problems in distributed, high-scale environments.
  • Deliver onsite customer work and collaborate effectively in a highly distributed remote team.

Requirements

  • Current security clearance is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer, System Administrator, or DevOps Engineer.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Consultant delivering professional services engagements.
  • Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch and/or Lucene.
  • Experience as a technical instructor or public speaker to large technical audiences.
  • Experience working directly with customers to gather, prioritize, plan, and execute solutions to business requirements.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language and understanding of open-source technology.
  • Hands-on experience with large distributed systems from an architecture and development perspective.
  • Knowledge of information retrieval and/or analytics domains.
  • Understanding of Linux, Java, and databases.
  • Willingness to work onsite with customers and travel as required.
  • Deep understanding of Elasticsearch and Lucene, including Elastic Certified Engineer certification, is preferred.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Java and Linux/Unix environments, software development, or distributed systems is preferred.
  • Experience delivering and/or developing product training is preferred.
  • Experience contributing to an open-source project or documentation is preferred.
