Description

  • Own the full sales lifecycle for State, Local, and Higher Education accounts, from qualifying opportunities through closing deals.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans while managing P&L and bookings/revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with leaders across government agencies and educational institutions.
  • Partner with cloud service providers such as Google Cloud and Salesforce on joint go-to-market initiatives, lead generation, and mutual success plans.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to scope service projects and draft Statements of Work for public sector clients.
  • Work with marketing to run regional campaigns and create customer success stories that demonstrate Egen’s impact.
  • Navigate complex public sector procurement landscapes and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Use knowledge of the SLED ecosystem to identify client needs and position modernization solutions.
  • Travel extensively within the region for client-facing engagements as needed.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in technology services sales with a proven record of selling to State and Local government agencies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud adoption lifecycles, data architecture, and analytics.
  • Familiarity with government procurement processes and agency-specific needs in SLED and Higher Education.
  • Experience selling to or working with Health and Human Services, Department of Transportation, Department of Labor, Infrastructure/Public Works, and/or HigherEd organizations.
  • Specialty experience with R1/R2 universities and research-driven platforms is preferred.
  • Ability to establish credibility with both IT leadership and business decision-makers.
  • Significant travel availability within the region for client-facing work.
  • Located in the United States, preferably in the Pacific time zone.
  • Must not require work visa sponsorship.
  • Experience with California procurement processes and contract vehicles is preferred.
  • Experience with California agencies such as the Department of Industrial Relations, HHS, and CalTrans is preferred.
  • Experience in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment is preferred.
  • Interest in learning and positioning cutting-edge AI solutions is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Google Cloud for forecasting and financial-based selling is preferred.
