Description

  • Deliver end-to-end design outputs including research, concepts, prototypes and UI.
  • Conduct customer research and evaluative testing to understand user needs.
  • Apply design methods such as personas and journey maps to build a shared customer view.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to scope, prioritise and deliver solutions.
  • Contribute to the design system by creating reusable patterns and components for consistency.
  • Support team culture and design processes through continuous improvement.
  • Balance customer needs with business goals and technical realities in design decisions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a product designer, ideally in SaaS or modern cloud software.
  • Experience across the full design process, including discovery, prototyping, iteration and delivery.
  • Strong visual design and interaction design skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and making trade-offs to achieve strategic goals.
  • Experience working closely with product managers and engineers in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage timelines independently.
  • Research- and data-informed mindset with the ability to interpret insights to guide design decisions.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI and open to new ways of working.
  • Preference for candidates based in Auckland or Wellington, though other locations in New Zealand will be considered.
