Description

  • Develop a marketing strategy for Turkey to grow Duolingo’s awareness, brand love, and user base.
  • Implement local marketing plans across social media, strategic partnerships, brand campaigns, acquisition campaigns, and PR.
  • Identify, pitch, negotiate, and activate high-impact partnerships with brands, institutions, creators, platforms, and communities.
  • Pursue earned, barter, or value-exchange collaborations that create scale and cultural relevance.
  • Hire and lead agencies or contractors needed to execute the marketing plan.
  • Serve as a local spokesperson and coordinate speaking opportunities for yourself and relevant executives in Turkey.
  • Analyze local marketing performance and adjust the plan based on results.
  • Partner with Marketing and Product teams on localized messaging and positioning for product and feature launches.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of consumer marketing experience with a strong focus on social media and growth marketing.
  • Experience conceiving, developing, and leading marketing and PR communication ideas through the full cycle.
  • Deep understanding of Turkish consumers, trends, and social media culture.
  • Strong storytelling and writing skills with the ability to create compelling customer-centric narratives.
  • Experience working on a remote team and building effective relationships with HQ stakeholders.
  • Fluency in Turkish and excellent English speaking and writing skills.
  • Track record of achieving strong results through ideas and creativity rather than large budgets.
  • Experience with mobile apps and subscription services is preferred.
  • Experience scaling international brands in Turkey is preferred.
  • Proficiency in a third language is preferred.
