Description

  • Own key areas of cloud infrastructure to improve reliability, performance, and usability across DroneDeploy’s platform and related services.
  • Design, build, and maintain infrastructure-as-code for scalable and secure engineering environments.
  • Lead improvements to CI/CD pipelines and release workflows using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and CircleCI.
  • Implement and refine monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboards to improve observability and system visibility.
  • Partner with software engineers across product areas to streamline deployments and define reliable “golden paths” for building, testing, and operating services.
  • Identify operational toil, fragility, and recurring incident patterns, then automate and improve processes to reduce support burden.
  • Participate in production support rotation, including incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident follow-up.
  • Collaborate on MLOps work such as model training, evaluation, and cloud infrastructure support for AI-enabled features.
  • Share expertise through code reviews, documentation, pairing, and mentoring to raise infrastructure and reliability practices.
  • Use AI tooling in daily engineering work and provide feedback to improve AI adoption across R&D.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with at least one major cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience operating Kubernetes clusters in the cloud at scale.
  • Strong software development experience, with proficiency in Python and/or Golang.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
  • Proven experience building and improving CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar tools.
  • Strong Linux system administration fundamentals, including networking, performance tuning, and security basics.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex production issues across applications, infrastructure, and third-party services.
  • Ability to collaborate with software engineering teams through communication, documentation, and enablement.
  • Comfort working in distributed, remote teams and driving projects independently.
  • No specific drone certification is required for this role.
