Description

  • Set organizational standards for cloud reliability, observability, and operational excellence, including SLO/SLI frameworks and incident management practices.
  • Own the developer experience roadmap by improving self-service infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and operational visibility across engineering.
  • Proactively identify systemic risks in AWS infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code practices, and delivery pipelines, and drive corrective action.
  • Define and execute the long-term technical vision for continuous integration and advise leadership on architectural strategy and investment priorities.
  • Refactor and consolidate a sprawling CI environment into a single reliable solution for engineering use.
  • Mentor engineers across levels and promote engineering rigor, documentation, and cross-functional accountability.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure components, processes, and deployment workflows.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in DevOps, site reliability, or infrastructure-related roles.
  • Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems or platform infrastructure.
  • Background in security is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud services, Terraform, and container orchestration with ECS or EKS.
  • Experience with Kubernetes/AKS and a second cloud such as Azure is a plus.
  • Deep Docker expertise, including building and managing container images, optimizing layers and cache, and operating ECR or comparable registries.
  • Experience with artifact registries such as Artifactory or Nexus, and hardening the software supply chain with artifact signing, SBOM generation, and build provenance/integrity.
  • Expert AWS knowledge across compute, networking, storage, and security services.
  • Deep understanding of OIDC and workload-identity federation for keyless CI-to-cloud authentication.
  • Strong expertise in cloud reliability and operational excellence, including SLO/SLI design, observability, alerting, and incident lifecycle management at production scale.
  • Experience with modern AI tooling, security best practices, and agentic solutions to improve engineering processes.
  • Proficiency in Python; GoLang is a nice-to-have.
  • Strong experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions; Buildkite is a plus.
  • Experience migrating Bitbucket or Jenkins pipelines to GitHub Actions is a big plus.
  • Experience setting CI/CD governance and delivery standards at an organizational level and driving platform adoption across multiple teams.
  • Data-driven approach to platform work, including quantifying toil, lead time, and reliability with before/after metrics.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • All new hires must pass a background check as a condition of employment.
