Description

  • Lead the Backend Engineering skill community and support its overall health.
  • Mentor engineering team members in technical growth and career development.
  • Champion the vision and execution of the Dragos Platform’s backend components.
  • Build strong relationships and technical alignment across engineering leaders.
  • Collaborate closely with tech leads and product managers on product teams.
  • Provide technical input during software design, development, testing, and release.
  • Ensure support for fielded production deployments.
  • Contribute occasional development, triage, and troubleshooting support when needed.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience leading and building technical teams.
  • 5+ years of experience developing software applications with microservice architectures or leading teams that do.
  • Hands-on software engineering experience with strong fundamentals in backend system design, distributed systems, and production-grade development.
  • Rust experience is strongly preferred.
  • Leadership experience within agile cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with Apache Flink, RabbitMQ, or Hashicorp Vault.
  • Experience working in cybersecurity, OT, or ICS environments.
  • Comfortable stepping in for occasional development, triage, or troubleshooting support.
  • Must pass a background check as a condition of employment.
