Description

  • Design, scope, and deliver complex systems from architecture through implementation and testing.
  • Break work into well-defined milestones and estimate delivery timelines.
  • Write clear, well-tested code and create documentation that other engineers can extend and reference.
  • Resolve technical issues across software, infrastructure, and network layers.
  • Own reliability, monitoring, logging, instrumentation, and operational quality for systems you build.
  • Ensure systems meet performance, scalability, and security requirements in cloud and network environments.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-team stakeholders to define requirements, surface risks early, and align execution with business goals.
  • Mentor junior engineers through code review, pairing, and technical context sharing.
  • Participate in technical discussions and interview loops to help hire effectively.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering complex systems.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one core programming language; preferred languages include Python, TypeScript, or Go.
  • Comfortable using coding agents such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code in daily work.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with networking constructs such as VPCs, subnets, security groups, and private endpoints.
  • Experience working across multiple layers of the stack, such as application, database, infrastructure, or security.
  • Deep experience with production-grade APIs and services.
  • Strong understanding of system reliability, monitoring, performance optimization, and operational maturity.
  • Strong understanding of databases, caches, queues, events, and workers.
  • Solid knowledge of network fundamentals, including routing, switching, VPN protocols, DNS, and firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and hardening practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders and deliver with minimal oversight.
  • Experience on multiple teams or in multiple roles is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in person and over team chat.
  • Willingness to accept feedback, learn quickly, and adapt in a fast-growing environment.
