Description

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Provide senior-level support for Windows workstations and server-connected endpoint issues.
  • Build, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Hyper-V hosts and virtual machines.
  • Administer Active Directory domains and associated identity services.
  • Support hybrid Microsoft identity environments, including Microsoft Entra ID and Azure Active Directory.
  • Investigate and resolve complex Windows Server, workstation, and virtualisation incidents.
  • Act as an escalation point for advanced Microsoft infrastructure issues.
  • Use PowerShell and Windows command-line tools for administration, troubleshooting, and automation.
  • Support server builds, upgrades, configuration changes, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Maintain technical documentation, ticket records, system notes, and resolution details.

Requirements

  • Approximately 5–6 years of relevant Microsoft infrastructure or systems engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Proven experience supporting Windows workstations in business or customer environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building, configuring, and managing Hyper-V environments.
  • Experience administering Active Directory domains and associated identity services.
  • A strong track record of resolving complex Level 3 infrastructure escalations.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues independently and own them through to resolution.
  • Experience in customer-facing IT support, consulting, or managed services environments.
  • Essential tools include Hyper-V, Windows Server 2022 and 2025, Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services, PowerShell, and Windows command-line administration tools.
  • Preferred experience includes Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Active Directory, hybrid Windows Server and cloud identity environments, VMware, Proxmox, backup and disaster-recovery platforms, remote monitoring and management tools, and PSA/service-management platforms.
  • Preferred certifications include Microsoft Windows Server certifications from 2016 onwards or equivalent, AZ-800, AZ-801, and previous MCSA or MCSE certification.
