Description

  • Co-design test strategies for new features and refactorings with the squad.
  • Implement and maintain Kotlin-based automated tests across unit, component, API, contract, integration, and UI levels.
  • Validate UI, backend APIs, databases, and RabbitMQ event-driven integrations.
  • Assess technical designs and solutions for risk, quality, and testability.
  • Apply a testing-pyramid approach, reserving end-to-end tests for critical user journeys.
  • Participate early in feature planning to represent user needs and influence implementation decisions.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines, test tooling, reporting, and test-suite reliability.
  • Share responsibility for test coverage with QA, frontend, and backend engineers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of experience, including at least 3 recent years in test automation using Java, Kotlin, Groovy, or Scala.
  • Strong coding ability in a JVM language, ideally Kotlin or Java.
  • Ability to read production code, review merge requests, and write clean, maintainable automated tests.
  • Experience designing test suites across unit, component/service, API, contract, integration, and UI/end-to-end testing levels.
  • At least 1 year of Selenium experience.
  • Experience with UI, API, and database testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, test reporting, and quality gates; GitLab CI experience is preferred.
  • System-level and architectural understanding of service interactions and data flows.
  • Experience or familiarity with Kotlin, Spring Boot, Cucumber, Gradle, GitLab, Selenium, and Allure Report.
  • Strong critical thinking, autonomy, communication skills, curiosity, and a proactive approach to identifying edge cases and failure modes.
