Description

  • Co-design test strategies for new features and refactorings with the engineering team.
  • Implement and maintain Kotlin-based automated tests across unit, component, API, contract, integration, UI, and end-to-end levels.
  • Validate service integrations by producing and consuming RabbitMQ events.
  • Assess designs and technical solutions for risk, quality, and testability.
  • Apply a testing-pyramid approach, prioritizing fast checks close to the code and reserving end-to-end tests for critical user journeys.
  • Participate early in feature planning and share test-coverage ownership with frontend and backend engineers.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, testing tools, and test reliability.
  • Review production code and merge requests to support maintainable, effective test coverage.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience, including 3 recent years in test automation using Java, Kotlin, Groovy, or Scala.
  • Strong coding skills in a JVM language, ideally Kotlin or Java.
  • Ability to read and understand production code, review merge requests, and write clean, maintainable automated tests.
  • Experience building test suites across unit, component/service, API, contract, integration, and UI/end-to-end testing levels.
  • At least 1 year of Selenium experience.
  • Experience with UI, API, and database testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitLab CI, test reporting, and quality gates.
  • Strong system-level and architectural understanding of service interactions and data flows.
  • Critical, user-focused approach to identifying edge cases, failure modes, and behavior beyond happy paths.
  • Excellent communication, autonomy, proactivity, self-learning, and leadership potential.
