Description

  • Develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails as the primary framework.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to implement user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
  • Build responsive front-end solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern server-side frameworks such as Ruby on Rails Hotwire or Phoenix LiveView.
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs, integrate third-party services, and manage databases using PostgreSQL or similar technologies.
  • Write code that meets internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices, and help uphold those standards through code reviews.
  • Test, debug, and optimize application performance to ensure stability and efficiency.
  • Own the full lifecycle of small pieces of work, shipping features and improvements with appropriate support from the team.
  • Set and meet timeline expectations, and raise risks early when work is taking longer than expected.
  • Participate in technical design, pair programming, and small-team collaboration in a fully remote, agile process.
  • Share ideas clearly, suggest technical or process improvements, and provide guidance on familiar technical approaches.

Requirements

  • Experience working as a full-stack engineer or in a similar web development role.
  • Strong ability to work remotely in a self-directed, self-starting manner.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails or similar back-end web frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or similar technologies.
  • Ability to write maintainable code and follow coding best practices.
  • Comfort working in an agile, iterative software development process.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in small teams and pair programming.
  • Nice to have: experience with Salesforce Service Cloud or Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Nice to have: experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Heroku, DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, or mobile development and responsive design.
