Description

  • Own the day-to-day administration, optimization, and evolution of the Databricks platform.
  • Manage, scale, and optimize compute clusters for data science and machine learning workloads.
  • Configure Databricks workspaces, access controls, and network settings.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of analytics workloads.
  • Monitor platform performance and build dashboards and alerts for cluster efficiency and job success.
  • Enable and improve data ingestion, transformation, and model execution workflows.
  • Build self-service tools and automation to provision notebooks, clusters, and environments.
  • Manage Unity Catalog rollout and adoption for data discovery, lineage, and access governance.
  • Review workspace configurations, cluster policies, and user permissions to maintain security and compliance.
  • Partner with data, ML, and Cloud DevOps teams to unblock workflows and support AWS infrastructure, networking, and IAM dependencies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Databricks administration or engineering, or a closely related data platform role.
  • Strong Databricks workspace administration skills, including cluster policies, permissions, Unity Catalog, Jobs/Workflows, and networking.
  • Familiarity with AWS services supporting Databricks deployments, including S3, IAM, VPC, and EC2.
  • Experience with data pipelines and orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, or Delta Live Tables.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with familiarity with Spark.
  • Understanding of modern data governance and access control patterns such as RBAC and data classification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • Upper-Intermediate English level.
  • Experience in financial services or regulated industries is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with MLflow, model serving, or feature store in Databricks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform is preferred.
  • Experience with AI/LLMOps tools, including observability, evaluation pipelines, and agentic workflows, is preferred.
  • Experience optimizing Databricks costs, including cluster policies, spot instances, Photon, and serverless SQL, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of distributed computing frameworks such as Spark, Ray, or Dask is preferred.
