Description

  • Lead technical strategy and execution for the largest and most complex global QSR prospects as the principal Solutions Engineer and Architect.
  • Analyze customer architectures to identify product and integration gaps and design target-state solution architectures.
  • Advise customers on integration patterns, modification best practices, cost efficiency, security, and resilience.
  • Serve as the highest technical escalation point during the pre-sales cycle and handle complex technical objections.
  • Develop and maintain standardized reference architectures, integration playbooks, and decision logs.
  • Translate field feedback and technical requirements into prioritized input for Product Management and Core Engineering roadmaps.
  • Ensure a seamless technical hand-off from sales to activation and support long-term client success after the sale.
  • Define and implement a repeatable Solutions Engineering methodology and technical engagement model.
  • Lead people management for the Solutions Engineering team, including hiring, mentoring, performance reviews, and goal setting.
  • Establish and track team KPIs such as sales conversion rate, architectural compliance, and post-sales escalation reduction.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive technical experience.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role such as Solutions Architect or Principal Solutions Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or equivalent experience in software development and architecture.
  • Strong expertise in modern API architectures, including REST and GraphQL.
  • Experience with distributed systems design and cloud platform governance on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Domain knowledge of QSR/Hospitality technology, including POS integrations, loyalty platforms, and multi-channel commerce systems.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and business value to C-level executives.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience overseeing technical consulting or engineering staff.
  • Experience with operational rigor, process definition, and technical governance in a leadership context.
  • Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.
  • Ability to work remotely, with Toronto-based candidates encouraged to work from the downtown office 3 days per week (preferred).
