Description

  • Write well designed, reusable, testable, and secure backend code using software development best practices.
  • Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications.
  • Architect well-defined APIs for user-facing elements built by front-end developers.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, analysts, QA, and other teams to translate designs into production products.
  • Participate in and conduct code reviews.
  • Discover, learn, and implement new technologies.
  • Mentor junior team members in best practices.

Requirements

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in designing and building backend systems.
  • Strong proficiency with Java and the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security.
  • Solid understanding of OOP concepts, large-scale software architecture, networking, distributed systems, and UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture, microservices, REST APIs, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Kafka.
  • Strong unit testing and debugging skills.
  • Proficiency with code versioning tools such as Git.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational data stores, key-value stores, and search engines such as Postgres, ScyllaDB, Druid, Hazelcast, Redis, and Elasticsearch is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud provider is preferred.
  • Experience or willingness to learn large-scale stream processing technologies is preferred.
  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies is preferred.
