Description

  • Manage a team of Sales Engineers and support customer success during the pre-sale process.
  • Partner with the Sales team to communicate Datadog’s value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Lead technical customer-facing engagements, including sales presentations, product demonstrations, and technical evaluations (POCs).
  • Help recruit and hire top talent within the region.
  • Mentor and onboard new hires to ramp their skills and capabilities.
  • Ensure the team is enabled to support Datadog solutions and both technical and soft skills.
  • Build strong working relationships with Product Management, Support, and Enablement to align pre- and post-sales activities.
  • Deliver semi-annual performance reviews and collaborate on individual development plans.
  • Take the lead technical role in the region for key account engagements.
  • Coach the team on how to qualify and close opportunities.

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering team lead or mentorship role.
  • 3+ years of experience in Sales Engineering or another equivalent client-facing role.
  • Experience recruiting both individual contributors and frontline leaders.
  • Knowledge of current infrastructure and monitoring solutions and technologies.
  • Ability to build and execute customer evaluation plans and mentor others to do the same.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate both business value and technical advantages of the offering.
  • Strong ability to grow and develop a team.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively about a wide variety of challenges.
  • Coachable, adaptable, and able to navigate change.
  • Preferred interest in technology and professional growth, even if not meeting every qualification on day one.
