Description

  • Work on customer technical projects such as reference architectures, how-to guides, and productionizing customer use cases.
  • Scope professional services engagements with engagement managers and customer input.
  • Guide strategic customers through big data implementations and third-party migrations from end to end.
  • Advise on architecture and design and help bootstrap or implement customer projects.
  • Provide escalated support for customer operational issues.
  • Coordinate with Databricks technical teams, project managers, architects, and customer teams to deliver engagement components.
  • Work with Engineering and Customer Support to share product feedback and resolve engagement-specific issues quickly.
  • Facilitate technical workshops, discovery sessions, design sessions, and customer requirements gathering.
  • Estimate level of effort, assess risk, and support statements of work and customer proposals.
  • Architect, develop, deploy, operationalize, and document complex customer solutions as a technical lead.
  • Transfer knowledge, mentor team members, customers, and partners, and create reusable project artifacts.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, and analytics.
  • For the non-senior role: 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, and analytics.
  • For the senior role: 9+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, and analytics.
  • Comfortable writing code in Python or Scala.
  • Comfort with object-oriented and functional programming in Scala and Python.
  • Working knowledge of two or more cloud ecosystems, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Expertise in at least one cloud ecosystem.
  • Deep experience with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
  • Experience building scalable streaming and batch solutions using cloud-native components.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
  • Working knowledge of MLOps.
  • Experience designing and deploying performant end-to-end data architectures.
  • Experience with technical project delivery, including managing scope and timelines.
  • Experience working with clients and managing conflicts.
  • Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
  • Databricks Certification preferred.
  • Ability to travel to customers 20% of the time.
