Description

  • Provide technical leadership to guide strategic customers through cloud data warehousing transformations from evaluation to production deployment.
  • Architect production workloads and validate platform value through end-to-end pipeline load performance testing and optimization.
  • Serve as a technical expert for competitive data warehousing evaluations and workload migration efforts.
  • Support Solution Architects with advanced pre-sales work, including custom proof-of-concept content, workload sizing, performance estimation, and tuning.
  • Advise customers on architecture design, data modeling, and production migration planning for business intelligence workloads.
  • Deliver tutorials, training, hackathons, and conference presentations to improve community adoption.
  • Contribute to the Databricks Community and internal knowledge sharing.
  • Strengthen technical expertise through mentorship, learning, and internal training programs.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a technical role with data warehousing expertise, including query tuning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, data governance, debugging MPP data warehouses, or migration workloads from EDW systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing data warehousing technologies such as relational databases, SQL, data analytics, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP, and OLAP.
  • Deep specialty expertise in at least one area: scaling large analytical cloud workloads cost-effectively; maintaining, extending, or migrating a production data warehouse; or migrating on-premise EDW workloads to the public cloud.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Production programming experience in SQL and Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly desirable.
  • 7 years of professional experience with data warehousing and big data technologies such as SQL, Redshift, SAP, Synapse, EMR, OLAP, and OLTP workloads.
  • 5 years of customer-facing experience in a pre-sales or post-sales role.
  • Ability to meet technical training and role-specific expectations within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to work remotely, with preference for candidates located in the job listing area and able to travel up to 30%.

  • Base salary range of $219,100 to $301,300 USD.
