Description

  • Partner with the sales team to provide technical leadership and explain how Databricks can solve customer business problems.
  • Work directly with prospective greenfield customers on their initial adoption journey with Databricks.
  • Consult on big data architectures across data engineering, data science, machine learning, and SQL analysis workflows.
  • Implement proof of concepts for strategic customer projects.
  • Validate integrations with cloud services, homegrown tools, and third-party applications.
  • Collaborate with product teams, customer-facing teams, and fellow Solutions Architects to develop solutions using the platform and APIs.
  • Guide customers through the competitive landscape, best practices, and implementation.
  • Develop technical champions within customer organizations and the broader developer community.
  • Promote and recruit contributors for Databricks-inspired open-source projects such as Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or a similar pre-sales/consulting role.
  • Experience building distributed data systems at scale.
  • Comfort with programming in and debugging Python and SQL.
  • Experience using agentic coding harnesses and scaling work with them.
  • Experience building solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Expertise in data engineering technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka, or in data science and machine learning technologies such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Ability to travel to customers in your region.
  • Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research preferred.
  • Databricks Certification preferred.
