Description

  • Define and lead independent research agendas focused on foundation model efficiency in training and reinforcement learning.
  • Design and run experiments to validate hypotheses and benchmark against state-of-the-art methods.
  • Develop algorithmic innovations for large-scale neural network training and inference.
  • Create techniques such as novel optimizers, low-precision methods, and model adaptation approaches.
  • Optimize ML systems for distributed training, memory efficiency, and compute efficiency.
  • Implement research ideas hands-on and translate scientific advances into production-ready systems.
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers on applied AI research initiatives.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in deep learning and push beyond the state of the art.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong foundations in machine learning and systems.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality, efficient code in Python and PyTorch.
  • Experience with research implementation and experimentation.
  • Strong preference for first-author publications at top ML/systems conferences such as ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS, or MLSys.
  • Preferred publication focus on optimization or efficiency.
  • Ability to work on foundation model efficiency, large-scale training, or reinforcement learning research.
  • Experience with distributed systems or ML system optimization is implied by the role's scope.

  • Base salary range of $166,000 to $230,000 USD.
