Description

  • Own large backend features and take them from idea to release in collaboration with product, design, and frontend teammates.
  • Write production-ready code in Ruby and Go for new product functionality and improvements to existing systems.
  • Help shape backend architecture and participate in technical decision-making for the squad and broader team.
  • Proactively identify high-value engineering work and contribute to product planning and prioritization.
  • Handle, triage, and resolve production issues across multiple systems.
  • Review critical pull requests and provide clear, actionable feedback.
  • Build and maintain integrations with ad platform APIs such as Meta, Google, TikTok, and Snapchat.
  • Define and improve engineering standards for coding, testing, monitoring, debugging, and CI/CD.
  • Contribute to system-level improvements, technical roadmap discussions, and product quality initiatives.

Requirements

  • Senior engineering experience with strong technical depth and a product mindset.
  • Deep expertise in Ruby and Ruby on Rails, including understanding how the framework works under the hood.
  • Confidence working in Go; the role involves splitting time roughly 50/50 between Rails and Go.
  • Expert-level PostgreSQL knowledge, including indexing, query optimization, partitioning, and scaling considerations.
  • DevOps mindset with the ability to make infrastructure-related decisions and take responsibility for production operations.
  • Experience working with simple infrastructure such as EC2, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible (preferred).
  • Pragmatic use of AI tools, with the ability to verify outputs and know when to code manually.
  • Strong testing practices focused on essential coverage without unnecessary overhead.
  • Performance optimization experience using caching, algorithms, or architecture when measurable benefits exist.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Experience in AdTech or MarTech industries (preferred).
  • Familiarity with AWS, Terraform, and Ansible (preferred).
