Description

  • Own and execute the end-to-end content strategy for API reference and developer enablement documentation.
  • Produce developer-focused documentation, including API references, onboarding guides, integration guides, tutorials, workflows, conceptual content, code samples, and best-practice guidance.
  • Design and maintain information architecture standards for the API documentation set and developer portal.
  • Develop and maintain documentation templates, style guides, Markdown standards, and writing conventions.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to understand APIs, data models, workflows, and release plans.
  • Review documentation changes through GitHub pull requests and support docs-as-code development workflows.
  • Manage documentation deliverables aligned with agile release cycles and evolving platform capabilities.
  • Define, document, and improve documentation workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct content audits to identify gaps, redundancies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze documentation usage, adoption, and feedback to continuously improve content quality and coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technical writing, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–8 years of total relevant experience, including 3–5 years working on developer or technical documentation in a complex technical environment.
  • Experience working independently at a senior level and prioritizing across competing initiatives without close supervision.
  • Strong understanding of HTTP-based REST APIs and JSON data structures.
  • Working knowledge of modern development stacks, including .NET and/or Node.js / JavaScript ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of API lifecycle concepts such as versioning, deprecation, and backward compatibility.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub and pull request-based development workflows.
  • Experience with documentation tooling and formats, including Markdown and structured authoring or XML-based tools such as MadCap Flare.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for documentation presentation and styling.
  • Familiarity with CMS or portal-based documentation delivery platforms.
  • Experience collaborating with software engineers, product managers, and UI/UX partners to shape documentation approach and developer experience.
  • Familiarity with localization workflows and translation tooling, and understanding of how content structure and reuse affect global scalability.
  • Understanding of documentation analytics, search behavior, and content performance measurement.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort working in fast-paced, agile environments.
  • Preferred: experience using AI tools to improve content quality, consistency, reuse, and production efficiency.

  • Base salary range of CAD $63,500 to $89,000.
  • Additional compensation may include a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, and Variable Incentive.
