Description

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, supplier invoices, expense claims, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS/GST returns and manage payroll tax, PAYG, superannuation, and WorkCover obligations.
  • Run payroll and ensure compliance with awards, employment agreements, and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare monthly management reports including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis, and executive commentary.
  • Deliver project-level financial reporting and present financial insights to leadership.
  • Own quarterly forecasting across revenue, costs, resources, and cash, including rolling 12- and 24-month models.
  • Build and maintain revenue, cost, resource, and cash flow forecasting models across projects and business segments.
  • Support strategic planning, board reporting, investor-ready packs, KPI dashboards, and commercial analysis for pricing, margins, and investment decisions.
  • Establish project costing structures, track WIP, manage claims, progress billing, and variation tracking.
  • Own the Procore–Xero integration, including configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and data governance.
  • Design and improve finance systems, controls, policies, reporting cadences, and workflows as the business scales.

Requirements

  • CPA or CA qualified, or holding an equivalent international qualification.
  • 7–12 years of management accounting experience, ideally in construction, infrastructure, energy, or other project-based businesses.
  • At least 3 years of experience with the Xero accounting package.
  • Demonstrated experience in quarterly and annual forecasting across revenue, cost, and resource dimensions.
  • Strong project accounting experience, including job costing, WIP management, margin analysis, and progress billing.
  • Experience producing board-level or executive reports with narrative insights, not just financial statements.
  • Experience supporting strategic planning and building financial models for business decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Xero and advanced Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Hands-on experience with Procore–Xero integration or similar project management-to-accounting integrations.
  • Excellent written and spoken English for communication with Australian नेतृत्व / leadership.
  • Experience in construction, engineering, energy infrastructure, renewables, or EPC/D&C sectors is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with EPC/D&C contract structures and progress claim processes is desirable.
  • Experience building finance systems and processes in a start-up or scale-up environment is preferred.
  • Financial systems implementation or migration experience is a plus.
  • Experience working in an offshore or remote finance role supporting an Australian business is preferred.
