Description

  • Own the design of a product area end to end, from strategy and flows through shipped quality.
  • Design end-to-end user flows, including edge cases, onboarding, activation, and recovery paths.
  • Partner closely with engineering during implementation to close the gap between design and shipped product.
  • Catch regressions and contribute directly to production UI, components, and interaction prototypes in code.
  • Contribute to and steward the Pluma design system by using it well, proposing extensions, and fixing inconsistencies.
  • Develop and apply a point of view on AI interaction design within your product area.
  • Collaborate with PM and Engineering on roadmap decisions, tradeoffs, and UX quality.
  • Mentor less experienced designers through pairing, critique, and example.
  • Push back on product decisions when they shortchange the user and advocate for better user outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product design experience.
  • A portfolio demonstrating craft, ownership, and a clear point of view on shipped work.
  • Strong ability to design end-to-end experiences across states, edge cases, and recovery paths.
  • Experience partnering tightly with engineering and contributing directly in code.
  • Code fluency is expected and increasingly important at this level.
  • Experience as a power user of a design system, including extending patterns and deciding when to use primitives versus proposing new ones.
  • Experience designing or shipping AI-involved interfaces, including handling uncertainty, latency, or reversibility.
  • B2B SaaS experience with complex, data-driven interfaces.
  • Strong communication and critique skills, including the ability to give rationale, receive feedback, and change course when evidence warrants it.
