Description

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers through feedback, career development, and performance management.
  • Hire, onboard, and retain engineering talent while building a high-trust, high-performance team.
  • Own end-to-end delivery, including scoping, planning, execution, release readiness, and post-release measurement.
  • Partner with Product to manage the team backlog, clarify requirements, define success metrics, and prioritize high-value work.
  • Drive healthy agile practices and improve predictability, throughput, and execution quality.
  • Provide technical direction on system design, architecture decisions, design reviews, and non-functional requirements.
  • Contribute technically where appropriate through reviews, design input, and incident support.
  • Champion simplification and modernization by addressing tech debt, legacy risks, and maintainability issues.
  • Own service reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-incident learning.
  • Ensure high-quality technical documentation and knowledge transfer to support scale and onboarding.
  • Establish safe and effective AI usage practices to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of software engineering experience delivering customer-facing platforms.
  • 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams in people leadership and/or tech lead roles.
  • Experience with eCommerce systems is strongly preferred, including checkout, payments, promotions, identity, or order flows.
  • Proven ability to translate product goals into technical plans and deliver high-quality software on schedule.
  • Strong foundation in system design, architecture, testing strategy, CI/CD, observability, performance, and security.
  • Experience with incident response, postmortems, monitoring/alerting, and reliability improvements.
  • Hands-on familiarity with GCP or AWS and deployment patterns such as containers, Kubernetes, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Strong data-layer fundamentals across relational databases/SQL and NoSQL/document databases.
  • Working knowledge of technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, JavaScript/React, and Node.js sufficient to guide design decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools for coding, test generation, incident triage, or documentation with safe-use practices.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.
