Description

  • Partner with the VP of Engineering to shape, evolve, and scale the engineering organization.
  • Monitor organizational health metrics such as team ratios, structure, bandwidth, and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the long-term vision of engineering and technical leadership.
  • Define, implement, and oversee engineering-wide processes including onboarding, performance management, feedback, and staffing.
  • Collaborate with Product and other functions to improve cross-functional collaboration and alignment.
  • Work with engineers to align technical designs, architecture, and product design.
  • Design and roll out the engineering career development strategy, including career paths, seniority levels, and advancement criteria.
  • Identify high-potential engineers and support succession planning and mentoring initiatives.
  • Foster a strong engineering community through events and knowledge-sharing practices.
  • Support team leads in their leadership responsibilities, including technical mentoring, feedback, engagement, and growth tracking.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience as a Software Engineer in a SaaS product organization.
  • Strong background in technical management, engineering leadership, software design, and architecture within a tech organization.
  • Experience in a scale-up environment.
  • Deep understanding of engineering career dynamics and talent management.
  • Solid grasp of organizational design, team structuring, and scaling best practices such as Team Topologies.
  • Familiarity with modern people and talent growth practices such as Management 3.0, Radical Candor, and Motivation Frameworks.
  • Strong cross-functional and cross-hierarchical leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Strategic thinking with operational execution capabilities.
  • Proactive, structured, and autonomous approach to leading initiatives.
