Description

  • Serve as the primary analytics leader across eCommerce, Marketing, Finance, Retail, Merchandising, Inventory Planning, and Operations.
  • Own problem definition for analytics by identifying the business questions that matter and the decisions insights should inform.
  • Analyze business performance beyond reporting to explain why results happened, how they happened, and what actions should follow.
  • Proactively mine data to identify risks, opportunities, inefficiencies, and performance drivers.
  • Influence senior leaders with clear implications and actionable recommendations.
  • Own the integrity, governance, and usability of core commerce, customer, and operational datasets across eCommerce, POS, CDP, email, and the data warehouse.
  • Define, document, and evolve company-wide KPI frameworks in partnership with Finance and functional leaders.
  • Establish standards for data quality, documentation, and analytical transparency across the organization.
  • Design and scale AI-assisted analytics workflows for recurring decisions such as growth, margin optimization, inventory productivity, and forecast alignment.
  • Own web and digital analytics strategy using Heap, including funnel performance, customer journey analysis, and conversion optimization.
  • Ensure tracking integrity and event schema accuracy in partnership with Product Engineering.
  • Translate behavioral data into commercial implications that influence merchandising, marketing, inventory, and operational decisions.
  • Support planning, forecasting, and performance alignment across Finance, Retail, Merchandising, and Operations.
  • Design the structure, workflows, and expectations for the analytics function and help hire, mentor, and develop junior analytics talent.
  • Champion an insight-driven analytics culture and reduce reactive ad hoc work through scalable reporting and automation frameworks.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Analytics, Strategy, or Data Leadership roles.
  • Experience leading analytics across multiple business functions.
  • Experience in commerce-driven businesses such as retail, eCommerce, CPG, or marketplaces.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic acquisition channels and their downstream impact on site behavior.
  • Advanced SQL and strong analytical modeling capabilities.
  • Experience designing and governing AI-enabled analytics workflows.
  • Ability to pressure-test AI-generated insights against data, customer behavior, and commercial logic.
  • Hands-on expertise with Heap or similar event-based web analytics platforms.
  • Comfort working with structured data formats such as JSON, event schemas, and data instrumentation.
  • Experience defining KPI frameworks and resolving cross-functional metric misalignment.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling stories that influence executive decision-making.
  • Track record of proactive insight generation rather than reactive reporting.
  • Ability to work standard Eastern Time business hours.
  • Preferred: residence near the Toronto hub.
