Description

  • Partner with project teams on internal audit engagements across financial services clients, including regulated financial institutions, fintech companies, mortgage companies, broker dealers, and investment companies.
  • Advise key stakeholders on governance, risk, and controls programs.
  • Create process narratives, identify key controls, and assess the design of controls.
  • Perform operating effectiveness testing by selecting samples and testing attributes.
  • Present findings and results to process owners, internal audit directors, and executive management.
  • Communicate complex issues clearly and concisely to clients and team members in writing and verbally.
  • Produce high-quality deliverables with minimal review time and fewer review notes.
  • Serve as a primary client contact and respond to client needs.
  • Balance competing priorities while maintaining project progress and minimizing client disruption.
  • Continuously improve technical and project management skills through feedback, mentoring, and formal training programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial services at a public accounting firm, professional services firm, or financial institution.
  • Experience focused on risk and compliance and internal audit.
  • Experience with financial services or banking products, services, business lines, regulations, and operating environments, preferably with regional, super-regional, or large global banks.
  • Foundational knowledge of banking terminology, regulators, risks, and controls.
  • Experience applying risk and control concepts in comprehensive, risk-based internal audits.
  • Strong people, project, and client management skills gained across multiple professional environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely, and to translate complicated issues into simple terms.
  • Ability to adapt to unexpected changes in timelines, deadlines, and scope of work.
