Description

  • Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Work with external data sources and APIs.
  • Unit test code for robustness, edge cases, usability, and reliability.
  • Fix bugs and improve application performance.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve development efficiency.
  • Perform upgrades and maintenance on existing software to improve performance and adapt to new hardware.
  • Analyze software requirements and user needs to assess feasibility within time and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with engineers, programmers, systems analysts, and other team members on software projects.
  • Manage core app services, including network and database components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a local or reputable university.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Android app development or mobile app development.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Google’s Android design principles and guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of emerging mobile technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management, presentation, and independent working skills.
  • Previous programming experience and familiarity with development, testing, and database management software.
  • Proficiency with application and computer servers.
  • Experience shipping Android applications in the Google Play Store with a large user base.
  • Knowledge of Android Studio, Gradle, UI layout, fragment usage, intents, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong Kotlin development skills, including new language features and object-oriented design patterns.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Android platform SDKs and commonly used third-party and open-source libraries.
  • Experience creating REST API clients and working with remote services.
  • Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence, Agile, Scrum, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Experience supporting designers and integrating production assets and interactions.
  • Preferred experience resolving backend and embedded issues with a focus on system robustness and performance.
  • Preferred experience evaluating and integrating internal, third-party, and open-source technologies to solve complex problems.
