Description

  • Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Work with external data sources and APIs.
  • Unit test code for robustness, edge cases, usability, and reliability.
  • Fix bugs and improve application performance.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve development efficiency.
  • Perform software upgrades and maintenance to improve performance, correct errors, and support new hardware.
  • Analyze software requirements and user needs to assess feasibility within time and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and other team members to define project capabilities, interfaces, and performance requirements.
  • Direct software testing, validation, documentation, and programming to ensure proper system functioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of Android or mobile app development experience.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Google’s Android design principles and guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of emerging mobile technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.
  • Previous programming experience and familiarity with development, testing, and database management software.
  • Experience shipping Android applications to the Google Play Store with a large user base.
  • Knowledge of Android Studio, Gradle, UI layout, Fragment usage, intents, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong Kotlin development skills and knowledge of object-oriented design patterns.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Android SDKs and third-party/open-source libraries.
  • Experience creating REST API clients and working with remote services.
  • Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence, Agile, and Scrum.
  • Familiarity with computer algorithms and data structures.
