Description

  • Own the most impactful customer problems each sprint and drive them from idea to live product.
  • Build AI-powered features using OCR, document understanding, generation, agent loops, and evaluation harnesses.
  • Prototype solutions quickly and convert working demos into production-grade systems.
  • Work directly with customers to observe claims, underwriting, and broker workflows and identify fixes.
  • Improve codebase quality through reviews, refactoring, testability, and observability.
  • Propose, build, and adopt internal tools, engineering standards, and team practices.
  • Raise the technical bar for the team and help shape how the product and codebase evolve.
  • Collaborate on real insurance use cases and help decide what to automate, reimagine, or replace.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building production systems.
  • Track record of shipping complex, customer-facing software.
  • Experience building and shipping at least one substantive AI-driven feature.
  • Strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming, design patterns, testing, web security, and performance.
  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, with at least one platform used in depth.
  • Ability to work fluently with LLMs or agents and understand where careful engineering is required.
  • Ability to communicate tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort learning new tools quickly and shipping with them within a week.
  • Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, Vue, React, GraphQL, MongoDB, Docker, or AWS is relevant to the stack.
  • Preference for self-directed builders who choose what to build rather than wait for assigned tickets.
