Description

  • Resolve complex regulatory compliance matters through research and informed decision-making.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and design solutions to mitigate compliance risk.
  • Develop and enhance compliance policies, procedures, and controls for existing and new business initiatives.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and implement strategies to address identified gaps.
  • Lead the creation, certification, and timely delivery of compliance reports with accurate data and issue tracking.
  • Manage responses to consumer complaints, coverage disputes, compliance escalations, and state insurance department inquiries.
  • Oversee corporate governance and Secretary of State obligations, including annual reports, good-standing maintenance, registered-agent administration, and entity changes.
  • Manage producer and entity licensing, appointments, commission gatekeeping, and required screening processes such as OFAC and AML.
  • Oversee mandatory reporting and filing obligations, including surplus line taxes, FMCSA, and other transportation-related filings.
  • Develop and facilitate compliance training, support regulatory audits and investigations, and maintain the regulatory change management process.

Requirements

  • 8 to 10 years of compliance experience in a property and casualty insurance business or insurance intermediary.
  • Experience working in both admitted and excess and surplus lines environments is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; a legal degree is preferred.
  • Experience in commercial auto insurance segments is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements in the P+C insurance space, including admitted and surplus lines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex regulations and problems, exercise strong judgment, and develop practical compliance solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to take initiative and prioritize compliance projects.
  • Methodical, diligent, and able to execute on compliance obligations effectively.
  • Sound judgment and high ethical standards.
  • Must be able to work Eastern Standard Hours.
  • Primary remote work with a dedicated workspace and reliable internet access.
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, offsite planning sessions, or business initiatives.

  • Base salary range of $128,232 to $190,000 per year.
