Description

  • Own end-to-end Taiwan Coupang core services across multiple domains.
  • Set technical ownership for systems and collaborate with domain engineering teams on tools, processes, and re-platforming.
  • Identify underlying system risks and define strategy and roadmap for key focus areas.
  • Lead execution with engineers to deliver milestones and technical initiatives.
  • Drive resilience improvements for core systems.
  • Build tools, monitoring, and better testing environments to improve engineering efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain user-facing features for a seamless shopping experience.
  • Optimize performance and scalability for high-traffic systems and complex workflows.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver reliable consumer experiences.
  • Continuously improve the platform using data insights, A/B testing, and customer feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience with algorithms, system design, and large distributed systems.
  • 5+ years of coding experience in Java or a similar language.
  • Hands-on experience building large-scale real-time services.
  • Experience creating a vision, influencing cross-functionally, and driving ambitious technical goals.
  • Strong ability to deliver software in rapidly changing environments with appropriate trade-offs.
  • Strong ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working closely with global distributed teams.
  • Experience setting team culture and maintaining code quality (preferred).
  • Understanding of operational excellence and highly available system monitoring (preferred).
  • Experience with AWS technologies such as S3, Kafka, and EMR (preferred).
  • Ability to challenge norms professionally to improve systems and processes (preferred).
  • Ability to work in multicultural, cross-functional teams (preferred).
