Description

  • Design, implement, and ship AI-driven features and systems into production environments.
  • Own technical decisions for AI architecture, data modeling, and system integration.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Identify and address reliability, scalability, performance, and observability issues in AI systems.
  • Establish and evolve best practices for applied AI engineering, including evaluation, interpretability, reliability, monitoring, explainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers to improve AI engineering quality and decision-making.
  • Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap discussions for AI capabilities and platform evolution.
  • Build agentic systems, including orchestration, tool use, state/memory, and multi-step workflows.
  • Develop evaluation harnesses, regression tests, and online/offline metrics for prompts and agents.
  • Implement production guardrails such as hallucination mitigation, grounding, human-in-the-loop review, and safe degradation paths.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant focus on applied AI.
  • Proven experience deploying LLM-powered systems or applications in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Python.
  • Experience building production LLM applications, including agents/tool use, retrieval, evals, and monitoring.
  • Experience working with large datasets and real-world data quality challenges.
  • Strong system design, problem-solving, and architectural decision-making skills.
  • Experience designing agent architectures, tool interfaces, and orchestration patterns.
  • Interest in continuously following and experimenting with cutting-edge AI technologies and tooling across the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong background in modern cloud-based architectures.
  • Preferred: experience applying AI solutions in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Preferred: experience working with MAPs, CRMs, and CDPs.
  • Preferred: experience deploying AWS infrastructure and using Terraform, EKS, Postgres, MySQL, Datadog, and GitLab in production.
