Description

  • Own products, features, and core systems from initial concept and architecture through production deployment.
  • Build backend services, APIs, data infrastructure, frontend surfaces, and cloud systems across the stack.
  • Develop AI-native products using LLMs, agents, tool integrations, retrieval systems, and related technologies.
  • Make pragmatic technical and product decisions amid ambiguity and limited process.
  • Collaborate directly with founders, customers, and stakeholders to identify problems and deliver software.
  • Build integrations with external APIs, business systems, data sources, and third-party platforms.
  • Establish engineering patterns, tooling, testing, observability, and development best practices.
  • Help shape engineering culture and mentor or lead engineers as teams grow.

Requirements

  • Professional software engineering experience with a record of shipping production systems.
  • Ability to take ambiguous problems from concept to working production solutions independently.
  • Strong backend, full-stack, product engineering, or systems engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, Java, Rust, or another modern production language.
  • Ability to work across multiple layers of a product rather than in a narrowly defined specialty.
  • High agency, strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and comfort in fast-moving environments.
  • Evidence of meaningful technical impact, rapid growth, entrepreneurial work, or engineering excellence.
  • Experience with early-stage startups, high-growth environments, or startup-style execution.
  • Experience with 0-to-1 development, production AI/LLM systems, APIs, distributed systems, data infrastructure, or developer tooling is preferred.
  • Python, TypeScript/React, modern AI coding tools, open-source work, side projects, or founder experience are particularly relevant.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $175,000-$275,000.
  • Opportunities based in New York, San Francisco, or remotely.
  • Specific equity, visa sponsorship, education preferences, seniority, and technical stack vary by opportunity.
