Description

  • Design, build, and maintain critical infrastructure and services that underpin the search platform.
  • Help operate foundational systems that process user requests and customer catalog data.
  • Build and support highly scalable, resilient, and globally distributed backend systems.
  • Ensure performance, stability, and reliability across systems handling billions of requests daily.
  • Work across performance-critical code and production operations as needed.
  • Contribute to deployment automation, capacity planning, and observability for backend infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the team to sustain high uptime and system reliability.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of the platform and engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in computer science, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and systems design.
  • Experience building and scaling high-traffic, high-availability backend systems.
  • Experience designing and operating backend infrastructure.
  • Experience with deployment automation, capacity planning, and observability.
  • Comfort working across different layers of the stack, from performance-critical code to production operations.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and tools in a fast-moving, large-scale environment.
  • Effective collaborator with a positive, ownership-driven team mindset.
  • Experience with Rust, C++, or Python is relevant to the role.
  • Experience with AWS, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Prometheus, or Grafana is relevant to the role.
