Description

  • Pitch CMC products, articles, research, and thought leadership to journalists.
  • Secure CMC quotes and commentary in news coverage around market, macro, and crypto trends.
  • Track daily macro and market news to identify reactive newsjacking opportunities.
  • Build and maintain media lists and a contacts database or CRM.
  • Identify and pitch CMC spokespeople for conference and side-event speaking slots.
  • Track relevant event calendars and submission deadlines.
  • Support logistics and briefing for confirmed speaking engagements.
  • Pitch CMC for podcast appearances, TV interviews, and online features.
  • Draft and edit press releases, manage distribution and embargoes, and handle press inbox inquiries.
  • Turn CMC proprietary data into pitchable stories, reports, and data points.
  • Monitor media mentions, create clip reports, track share of voice, and prepare basic KPI reporting.
  • Prepare talking points, briefing docs, and Q&A materials for spokespeople.
  • Identify and submit nominations for awards and rankings.
  • Coordinate with marketing, social, research, and product teams to amplify earned media.
  • Support senior staff with crisis and reactive communications on sensitive or breaking issues.

Requirements

  • ~1–2 years of experience in PR, communications, journalism, or media, in agency or in-house roles.
  • Strong written English and the ability to draft pitches and press releases quickly.
  • Genuine interest in crypto/Web3, fintech, and markets.
  • Comfort tracking news and working at the pace of a 24/7 market.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to juggle multiple pitches and deadlines.
  • Nice to have: existing media or podcast contacts.
  • Nice to have: additional languages.
  • Nice to have: data literacy.
  • Remote working.
