Description

  • Design and develop backend and frontend features for GeckoTerminal.
  • Execute full software development lifecycles aligned with the team’s strategy.
  • Write clean, reusable, maintainable code and libraries.
  • Deploy code to production and keep source code and dependencies up to date.
  • Participate in bug rotation and pager duty to support application health.
  • Assist with infrastructure and database management tasks.
  • Build and maintain background jobs that sync data from third-party services and blockchain RPCs.
  • Conduct code reviews and help uphold best practices while addressing technical debt.
  • Write concise documentation and maintain team knowledge resources.
  • Replicate defects, work with QA, and resolve issues according to team objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver work effectively.
  • Mentor interns and junior engineers and support ad hoc company tasks.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of software development experience or similar experience in Agile teams.
  • Experience shipping high-quality, scalable applications to production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or relevant professional-level certifications.
  • Familiarity with CoinGecko products and understanding of finance, blockchain, or cryptocurrencies.
  • Understanding of blockchain concepts such as on-chain data, token standards like ERC-20, or DeFi protocols.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and ability to write high-quality, well-tested code.
  • Experience with both front-end and back-end development and simple deployment tools.
  • Prior experience delivering work in Agile/SCRUM environments.
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating effectively in a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work on clearly defined, moderately scoped features and provide reliable estimates.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and user empathy.
  • Nice to have: working knowledge of Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, Postgres, Redis, ClickHouse, and cloud services.
  • Nice to have: direct experience building or contributing to crypto products.
