Description

  • Partner with Accounting and FP&A to support accurate, on-time month-end and quarter-end close.
  • Build financial datasets, reconciliations, and reporting that tie out to the general ledger.
  • Design and own curated, documented source-of-truth financial datasets in Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Build and operate scalable batch and near-real-time pipelines using Airflow, dbt, or similar tools.
  • Establish audit-ready financial data controls, including SOX compliance, lineage, change management, and audit evidence.
  • Define reusable data-quality and reconciliation frameworks, including tests, monitoring, alerting, and SLAs.
  • Drive data contracts with upstream engineering teams to ensure complete, reconciled, traceable financial data.
  • Set technical architecture and direction, mentor Analytics Engineers, and create reusable tooling for finance data users.

Requirements

  • Accounting or finance exposure through education, certifications such as CPA/CMA, or hands-on partnership with Accounting or FP&A teams.
  • Experience supporting month-end close, reconciliations, or financial reporting.
  • Expert SQL, including window functions, complex aggregations, and query optimization.
  • Strong Python skills, including object-oriented programming and reusable frameworks.
  • Experience designing modular, reusable source-of-truth data models, including star/snowflake schemas and slowly changing dimensions.
  • Experience building and owning production ETL/ELT pipelines with dbt, Airflow, or similar tools, including testing, monitoring, and SLAs.
  • Experience with a modern data warehouse or lakehouse, such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Staff-level experience leading multi-quarter, cross-functional technical initiatives, setting architecture, and mentoring engineers.
