Description

  • Design and build scalable payment systems that process millions of transactions daily across multiple payment methods and rails.
  • Own backend services end-to-end from architecture through production in a real-time financial environment.
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code and operate services that are correct, auditable, and reliable.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Compliance, and Finance to turn payment requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Work with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership to define the long-term roadmap for Payment Rails.
  • Improve system reliability, reduce latency, and scale backend infrastructure.
  • Integrate with internal and external partners such as banking systems, payment processors, FinHub, Ledger, and Risk.
  • Mentor teammates, participate in design reviews, and contribute to engineering culture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering.
  • Experience building high-volume, low-latency distributed systems.
  • Strong coding skills in Go, or a similar language.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases, transactions, and data consistency.
  • Experience designing and operating production services at scale, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and performance optimization.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and system design principles.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Passion for building an open financial system.
  • Ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots such as LibreChat, Gemini, and Glean in daily workflows.
  • Experience with payment systems, banking integrations, or financial infrastructure such as ACH, SWIFT, SEPA, card networks, or payment processors (preferred).
  • Experience with blockchain technology, stablecoins, or crypto payment flows (preferred).
  • Experience scaling systems and teams through rapid company growth (preferred).
  • Familiarity with onchain activity such as Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, or blockchain-based services (preferred).

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $186,065 to $218,900 USD.
  • Total compensation may include equity.
