Description

  • Run CBPL’s entity-level risk framework across financial, operational, technology, outsourcing, conduct, and regulatory risks.
  • Lead and challenge RCSAs, incident and issue management, KRIs/KCIs, and risk appetite monitoring for CBPL.
  • Provide second-line risk challenge on products, change initiatives, and governance, and produce risk reporting for committees and the Board.
  • Oversee CBPL’s outsourcing and intra-group risk, including third-party concentration, exit planning, and resilience for important business services.
  • Support CBPL’s ICARA, prudential planning, and regulatory engagement with risk input, scenarios, and remediation tracking.
  • Help design, enhance, and embed Coinbase’s global Operational Risk Management framework across the enterprise.
  • Own or co-own global ORM program areas such as incident management, resilience, third-party risk, or loss analytics.
  • Partner with global product and operations teams to assess operational risk impacts of new products and changes, especially for the UK footprint.
  • Enhance operational-risk management information and dashboards for senior management and Board-level forums.
  • Champion risk culture across CBPL and Global ORM, and coach first-line and functional leaders on prudential, operational, outsourcing, and conduct risk.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of risk-management experience in UK-regulated financial services with strong exposure to operational and enterprise risk.
  • Deep understanding of risk governance, three lines of defence, RCSA, incidents and issues, KRIs/KCIs, risk appetite, and stress testing.
  • Practical experience with UK regulation such as SYSC, MiFIDPRU/IFPR, operational resilience, outsourcing, conduct, and Consumer Duty.
  • Experience working in or closely with second-line-of-defense functions, and engaging boards, senior management, regulators, and internal audit.
  • Ability to use generative AI tools and copilots such as LibreChat, Gemini, and Glean in daily workflows with human-in-the-loop practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing risk processes and procedures at both entity and group level.
  • Strong organization, project management, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships across global, matrixed organizations.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth, technology-led environment with changing priorities.
  • Nice to have: experience with GRC tooling such as RSA Archer and building risk MI and dashboards.
  • Nice to have: exposure to crypto, digital assets, or other innovative financial-technology businesses.
  • Nice to have: relevant qualifications such as IRM, FRM, PRM, CFA, or equivalent.

  • Target annual base salary of £95,490 to £106,100 GBP.
