Description

  • Lead engineering teams building mission-critical systems for institutional products.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn vision into a roadmap.
  • Break down complex projects into smaller pieces and guide iterative design and implementation.
  • Provide technical leadership for architectural decisions and promote high-quality, operationally excellent engineering practices.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to deliver and operate complex distributed systems at scale.
  • Coach direct reports and support their career growth.
  • Work with recruiting to identify and hire exceptional engineers.
  • Own processes that improve engineering quality and meet engineering SLAs.
  • Participate in hands-on technical work when needed, including code review, documentation, on-call rotations, incident leadership, and bug triage/troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • 1+ year of engineering management experience.
  • Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term planning.
  • Experience creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenant distributed systems at scale.
  • Willingness to be hands-on with coding, technical documentation, on-call rotations, incident response, and bug troubleshooting.
  • Passion for building an open financial system and working on crypto/onchain products.
  • Ability to use generative AI tools and copilots responsibly in daily workflows, with human-in-the-loop practices.
  • Experience at a company that has rapidly scaled from 10 to hundreds of engineers (preferred).
  • Experience with blockchains such as Bitcoin or Ethereum (preferred).
  • Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, or Postgres (preferred).
  • Experience building financial, high-reliability, or security systems (preferred).
  • Crypto-forward experience, including interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, or blockchain-based services (preferred).

  • Annual base salary range of $218,025 to $256,500 USD.
