Description

  • Lead the application of ASC 606/IFRS 15 to complex crypto-native transactions such as spot trading fees, staking rewards, and NFT royalties.
  • Develop and maintain revenue recognition and reporting processes tailored to crypto products and services.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies.
  • Oversee month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams on revenue accounting treatment for new product launches.
  • Improve revenue systems, processes, and controls using blockchain data and automation tools.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls over revenue cycles to support SOX compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Support internal and external audits and stay current on accounting standards and crypto industry practices.
  • Manage and mentor the Revenue team while supporting cross-functional collaboration and junior development.
  • Lead or participate in special projects related to financial infrastructure, new product launches, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 4-5 years focused on revenue recognition (ASC 606/IFRS 15) within a financial institution.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex accounting guidance to real-world business scenarios in a rapidly changing industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with SOX compliance in a financial services context.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle, plus advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Experience working in a high-growth startup or technology company is preferred.
  • Familiarity with crypto accounting software or blockchain analytics tools is preferred.
  • Experience with international revenue recognition and foreign currency considerations is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of digital assets, blockchain technology, cryptocurrency markets, DeFi concepts, and common crypto use cases is preferred.
  • Ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows, with human-in-the-loop practices, is preferred.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $205,785 to $242,100 USD, depending on work location.
  • Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
