Description

  • Lead the design and delivery of production AI agents, reusable skills, and automation workflows.
  • Translate ambiguous business processes, judgment calls, and edge cases into maintainable software.
  • Design integrations between AI agents and systems of record using MCP and similar frameworks.
  • Define architecture, interfaces, data contracts, and operating standards for production AI systems.
  • Establish evaluation strategies, quality baselines, and release criteria for AI deployments.
  • Build controls for permissions, observability, auditability, human review, failure containment, and rollback.
  • Partner with data engineering and business stakeholders to ensure trustworthy data and sustainable ownership.
  • Drive technical decisions across workflows and identify reusable engineering patterns.
  • Mentor engineers and technical partners through design reviews and implementation guidance.
  • Document systems, decisions, and operating practices for safe maintenance and extension.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including recent experience shipping LLM-backed applications.
  • Experience taking AI agents or multi-step automation workflows from prototype to reliable production operation.
  • Strong Python skills and practical SQL expertise with production data models.
  • Deep experience with prompting, tool use, agentic loops, structured outputs, error handling, and deployment.
  • Experience integrating software with business-critical systems of record.
  • Strong judgment regarding AI evaluation, reliability, safety controls, and responsible deployment.
  • Production engineering experience with Git, CI/CD, containers, monitoring, testing, permissions, and rollback.
  • Ability to lead ambiguous technical work and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred: experience with MCP servers, agent platforms, evaluation harnesses, or reusable tool frameworks.
  • Preferred: background in internal tools, solutions engineering, startups, regulated industries, or technical leadership.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Linear, Jira, Zendesk, Salesforce, or Snowflake.

  • US base salary of $130,000–$195,000, depending on geographic market and qualifications.
