Description

  • Design, build, and operate POS experiences using React Native, Expo, TypeScript, and Python services.
  • Develop offline-first functionality with SQLite, synchronization, retries, and conflict handling.
  • Build and operate FastAPI backend services for authentication, staff and device workflows, menus, orders, payments, receipts, and integrations.
  • Design APIs, data models, caching, synchronization, and recovery workflows using PostgreSQL, Valkey, REST, and platform integrations.
  • Own observability, automated testing, release quality, performance, security, and production support.
  • Manage changes across application code, backend services, Terraform infrastructure, Kubernetes deployments, Helm, and Argo CD.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Payments, Accounting, Reservations, Infrastructure, Security, and engineering teams.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, pair programming, documentation, mentoring, and engineering improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building, shipping, and operating production software, with strong Python and/or TypeScript proficiency.
  • Experience with modern mobile or frontend development; React Native, Expo, React Query, Zustand, and SQLite are relevant.
  • Strong fundamentals in architecture, automated testing, debugging, performance, security, and operational reliability.
  • Knowledge of relational data modeling, PostgreSQL, caching, API design, distributed systems, and asynchronous workflows.
  • Experience with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Argo CD, AWS, CI/CD, observability, and incident response.
  • Experience building POS or adjacent real-time transactional systems, such as restaurant, retail, ticketing, delivery, or kiosk technology.
  • Experience with offline-first applications, synchronization engines, or conflict-resolution workflows.
  • Experience with native mobile capabilities, app-store delivery, hardware integrations, and device fleet management.
  • Experience with payment processing, e-invoicing, and fiscalization.
  • Business-level English, strong communication skills, and familiarity with hospitality or food-and-beverage operations; work authorization in Europe without visa sponsorship.
